VENUE

Zielona Góra has been selected as the venue of the Conference. The event is organized by the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Institute of Building Engineering of the University of Zielona Góra. The conference will take place in the Campus A of University of Zielona Góra on Szafrana Street 1. The place is located near the center of the town.

The town does not lie on a river but it is very famous for steel bridges. More than 500 bridges were fabricated at this place at the beginning of XX-th century at Beuchelt & Co. steel structures works. Many of them still exist today. One can recognize them looking at the information plate like this:


This picture presents the existing railway bridge in Ko¼le (near Opole, Poland).

It is worth noting that famous suspension bridge erected in Wroc³aw in 1910 was fabricated at Beuchelt & Co. steel structures works as well.

Zielona Góra is the seat of the university at which more than 15 thousand students study at 10 faculties.
The University of Zielona Góra was founded on 1 September 2001 as a result of a merger between Zielona Góra's Pedagogical University, which was founded in 1971 and Technical University, which was founded in 1965. It is one of the youngest universities in Poland.
